HOLLAND Readers's Tips - I've been to London, Paris and Amsterdam and perhaps I can give you some advice.t's been a year since i visited London, but i remember having a great time visiting the British Museum.hings are awful expensive there. Paris is one of my favorite city.esides the usual, i. Louvre, Eiffel, Champs d'Elysses, I'd definitely visit Notre Dame, Mont' Matre (There's a lot of small shops along that area that I find very charming. I haven't been to Nice yet, so I can't comment on it. I just came back from AMS last week, and I had a blast (even just by myself.'d definitely visit one of those coffeeshop, walk along all the canals, visit Anne Frankhuis. visited Rijksmuseum, and it's being renovated, and it's a lot smaller than other museums that i've visited.'d prefer Van Gogh museum next door instead.here's a nice candy store on west canal bank on Siegel called Pucini, it's good store for some souvenir.ost of the souvenir is done along the Damrak, or Leidsestraat along the canal Kelzergracht inward to the Centraal station.e sure to bring a map before you go to AMS, because unlike other european country, they don't give out free maps at the airport or the train station.'d visit the Red Light District just at least once, it's just interesting how this particular entertainment industry bloom in Holland.

I just got back from amsterdam in October.I'd definitely visit the anne frank house. It's very moving (especially if you read the book.I read the book after my visit and I still thought it was really interesting. I also visited the Rijksmuseum, torture museum, and sex museum. The later two you can pass on (especially the sex museum, it was kinda lame, but the Rijksmuseum was interesting if you like history. I did a lot of hanging out in coffee shops, which is a cool place to relax even if you don't smoke weed.Find one with couches and you can meet people or grab a cup of coffee. If you were by yourself I would DEFINITELY recommend the Flying Pigs youth hostil on Nieuwendijk. It was really chillin, and had a bar, pool table, padded floors to smoke, and big screen tv where everyone just got to know each other. I am planning a trip to Amsterdam and Brugge this fall. Are Americans welcome and accepted in Amsterdam these days

Are you kidding If you are serious, what on earth gave you the idea that Americans might not be welcome in Amsterdam The answer is an unequivocal yes, you'll feel welcomed.ot with a fanfare and a bunch of flowers you'll only be one of many thousands flocking there every day from all over the planet, but you'll be welcomed like everybody else. If you were to get into trouble, it would be not because you are an American but because you might get obnoxiously drunk and worse or otherwise misbehave I'm not saying you personally will do that, but that's what it would take to get into serious unpleasantness. Amsterdam is a welcoming, laidback, openminded place where you'll have less trouble encountering English speakers tha
