HOLLAND Readers's Tips -
I am going to Rotterdam in September as part of my wandering around Holland. use their train web site. hope I can paste it here.f it doesn't work, I'll still send this message through and tell you to to "Google" and search for "Holland Train Schedules".ou should get something in the listings that will start with "www.lland.m/include/loaded.ml... So here is my attempt to paste:
Good luck to you, Carleton (P. I found that the trains from the Amsterdam aiport are frequent, so start your search for schedules from "Amsterdam Centraal"no that is not misspelled
http://www.lland.m/include/loadad.mlpagehttp://www../servlet/Satellitecid1075985690180andamp;pagenamewww..%2FPage%2FSuperHomepageEnglishandamp;cPage
Hey, it worked.ighlight it, right click it, from the drop down click "Copy" and then on your Internet address line, delete what's there, put cursor there, right click it and click "Paste" from the drop down.
The Holland rail site is: www...here's even an English site.ou can find scgedules, prices, etc.ave fun I am visiting Amsterdam in April.oes anyone have any advice on the most inexpensive way to get to Italy from AMS
Thanks
Be ready to consider a flight not just from AmsterdamSchiphol but
from nearby cities.lay around with www.yscanner.t.
Leave some of the parameters nondefined, like the city of
departure from the Netherlands (so that it brings up alternatives
like Rotterdam or Eindhoven etc. a short train trip from AMS
could save you a lot of money, and leave the Italy arrival cities
nondefined so again you see alternatives that you may not
even know are destinations for budget airlines.
Then figure out the trains to and from these airports:
Use this site for trains in both countries:
http://plannerint.rail./bin/query.e/enldIAandamp;Lprofiandamp;
and, specifically for Italy, www.enitalia..
When in doubt as to how to get to or from an airport, simply go
to google and input the city name and the word airport.f the
search in English brings up nothing worthwhile for Italian
destinations, use the Italian spelling of the city (Firenze not
Florence, Venezia not Venice etc.nd the Italian word
aeroporto, then when you're on the site, look for a Brit flag or
other link for the English version.
There are usually links with info on how to get there etc.
Then read the small print on the airline's own website, about
luggage restrictions it's less than you're used to from the US (if
that's where you hail from, and strictly enforced, excess
baggage costs a lot.
If you end up looking at an Italian city name that means nothing
to you, go to www.amichelin.m, input that mystery name as
the departure city and use a city you know as the destination.t
will draw a map, and voiland224; you'll know where it is.
That's it happy hunting.
