Hi, My huband is from '/Den Haag.excuse the mostly lower case, my thumb is injured.t is sunny in a., but mostly overcast the rest of the time, as usual.es , the dutch do go out in any kind of weather.hey bike, walk, shop, etc. remember sitting in a cafe on the beach (not in december having tea during weather that most americans would NEVER even consider being outside for a meal/snack, let alone on a windy beach.UT they do set up clear plastic barriers to protect you from the wind.some markets ARE open.very city has it's own "shop night" where they stay open until 8 or 9 in the evening, after closing for an hour or so for dinner (usually around 5 or 6 Scheveningen has some great restaurants on the harbor and they were building a mall when we were there for 2002 new year's eve.
in the towns, you will find the decorations are very pretty but much more subdued than in america.ou might consider visiting the church where the pilgrims used to go before they set sail for america.hop in den haag or amsterdam.n amsterdam, we went to The Maxim shopping mall.t is near some great museums, the dutch stock exchange, the church where the prince married his argentinian bride on 2202 and near a plein or square where people hang out and where they lock up there bikes.he larger cities have mall like places to go.emember that you must buy a coffee and then pay a guilder to use the toilet. don't know what the euro charge would be.he museums are awesome.here is one dedicated to van gogh in amsterdam.he RIjksmuseum.here is also a rijksmuseum in amsterdam for other artists.sing public transportation is always available, clean, fairly priced, fast, reliable for the most part.t is used by a very large part of the population.msterdam has closed off many of tis streets to cars.t is very expensive to live ther.ven homes in the red light district cost around a million.lats/apts.re less expensive.
