HOLLAND Readers's Tips - Went to Zanse Shans from Edam (Adamonly one week ago and absolutely loved it.f you don't get lost it only takes 1520 mins.o get there.e did get lost going there from Edam though as we turned off the freeway too soon.uidebooks only gave directions from Amsterdam so we were trying to figure it out from these.rom Edam head south on the A7 highway and take the exit to Zaandijk (I think it is 2 but it might not say on the signand signs will take you from there.arking is expensive but most sights at the outdoor museum are free and are so enjoyable.his was definitely a highlight of our trip.f you haven't been to Edam (Adam before you will love it.t is the cutest most quiant Dutch town.e stayed at Hotel Fortuna which couldn't get any cuter and rented bicycles and road around town and the countryside. Mike Yes, this village has everything "Dutch" in one place.t is set on the water and is a very pretty little village. You can climb windmills; taste cheese (watch it being made; try on clogs (also watch these being made out of a block of wood; shop for Delftware (the blue and white pottery and also taste a fresh Dutch pancake (kind of like a crepe.
