HOLLAND Readers's Tips - Please let me know what your experiences were in Maastricht.I was born there and go back often to visit.ead your post to late to give you any info.

I will be in holland for only 5.days, and was trying to decide if it was worth going south to maastricht for only one night.hat makes this the supposed food capital of italy Any advice should I go if i have so little time in the Netherlands, for example would be appreciated.hanks. Maastricht is the food capital of holland because it is the most southern city and thus has an attitude towards food that is more like the burgundian belgian and french attitude.ess like the calvinistic dutch foodattitude.heck out the Vrijthof, and the old city centre.hopping is also good in Maastricht.

I have been to Maastricht three times, because when I stay in Holland, I stay in Heerlen.Maastricht has some great sites, as far as old city walls and the relaxing river Maas.I think it is worth visiting if you are in the area, but I would not sit on the three hour train ride from Amsterdam to visit Maastricht.
